WARNING!
Long Personal Blog Post!
Who is the MOST important person in your life?
Many will say my kids or my spouse, however, YOU are THE most Important person in your life!
“One cannot help another, without first helping themselves.”
This is something that I have known for years, but I have struggled with for many years.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a very hard time saying NO.
However, for some reason, I tell myself NO when I shouldn’t and then I struggle with trying to make everyone happy.
Sadly, by trying to make everyone else happy, I am not happy and I have struggling to make it seem as I am.
I know that some will not be happy with me with my decision to put myself first, but I cannot let it bother me.
In my journey to wellness, I have been learning more and more about myself and how I work on the inside.
As I learn how I tick, I am discovering that I MUST take time for myself in order to be able to help others in the way that I want and need in my nursing career.
I have to STOP taking on more than I can handle and start stepping back to be able to have inner peace inside myself instead of a constant struggle.
I am the type to take on too much and then let myself suffer due to not being able to have downtime for myself and my family.
I have spent the last 5 years pursuing my nursing degree and I am now working on getting my state board license so I can begin my career as an RN.
Thankfully, I have discovered Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) and I have become a Second Degree Reiki Practitioner.
Through my journey of learning Reiki, I have started to rebalance my energy and I am no longer tolerant to negative energy.
The world has far too much negative energy and I am doing what I can to avoid any and ALL negative things in my life.
As my journey continues, my goal is to be able to bring Reiki into the lives of others to help them find their inner peace.
To bring myself back into alignment, I MUST detach myself from things that are no longer beneficial for my mind, body, and soul.
In doing this detachment, I am embarking on a social media detox for a minimum of 21 days while I rebalance my energy.
I will continue to journal my experiences as I rebalance my energy, however, it will not be a daily practice.
Instead, I am going to begin a daily practice of taking care of myself by meditating, performing self reiki, spending time outside, and enjoying my family.
While I take on this part of my wellness journey, I will continue to pray and send healing energy to my family and friends.
If you are feeling lost and unconnected in your life, I invite you to embark in finding what makes you tick.
I also would like to encourage you to get outside, go for nice walk or find a quite place to take in the beauty of our world around us.
